Username or password are incorrect

When using PBO Tools, maintaining accurate and current login credentials is crucial for seamless access to the application. If you encounter the error message:

"Username or password are incorrect. Would you delete them and log in again?"

This indicates an issue with the saved credentials in the Credentials.json file, typically due to the credentials being outdated or changed, such as after a password reset.

Understanding the Error

The "Username or password are incorrect" error occurs when the information in the Credentials.json file, located at AppData\Local\SIX Software\PBO Tools - DayZ Obfuscator, no longer matches the current user credentials. This discrepancy can happen if you have recently changed your password but the changes have not been reflected in the saved credentials file.

How to Resolve the Error

To resolve this issue and regain access to PBO Tools, follow these steps:

  1. Prompt for Action:

    • Upon launching PBO Tools and encountering this error, you will be prompted with an option to delete the outdated credentials file.

  2. Confirm Deletion:

    • To delete the file and update your credentials, press 'Enter' or 'Y' when prompted. This action will remove the existing Credentials.json file that contains the invalid credentials.

  3. Re-Login:

    • After deleting the old credentials, you will be prompted to log in again. Enter your current username and password to create a new Credentials.json file with the updated information.
